Ponytail Makeup

On days when you just feel like sporting a sleek ponytail; structured and girly makeup is a must have. It will take away from any greasy roots, and will let you feel more polished in leggings and a slouchy knit sweater  ( my style from about  November to April).  Face: 1. Start with a mattifying primer, and blend into the skin. Look for primers that melt into your skin, and make it feel nice and soft. 2. Apply a matte foundation and mix it with moisturizer, this will sheer it out, and make the foundation feel lighter. 3. Apply a highlighting concealer under your eyes and a heavier concealer (cream to powder) on any blemishes. 4. Add a touch of cream blush in a mauve shade on your cheek bones to give you a chiseled look. 5. Dust your entire face with a very fine finishing powder to lock everything in place. Eyes: 1. Apply a matte off-white eye shadow all over your lids. 2. Blend a dark matte brown eye shadow into your crease. 3. Line your top lash line with a dark bro

Back to School Makeup

Yes, it is that time of year again.... Back to school. If your like me, you may like school for the social aspect... and the fashion and beauty aspect, or you may genuinely like the academic part of it. Either way, it is always nice to have a fresh makeup look that you can easily slap on, and that won't make you feel rushed. Face: 1. Start with a nice primer, try and pick one that is silicone free, but still controls oil, and if you have larger pores like myself, fills in those too. Jessie's Picks: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, this one is nice for when it is still hot outside somedays but cooler other days. 2. If you can, and feel comfortable, try wearing just concealer. Pat it onto any blemishes, dark spots, red spots, and under your eyes to help you look awake. Jessie's Picks: Mac Studio Finish Concealer. CoverGirl and Olay Coverstick. 3. OPTIONAL: If you still want more coverage, or want to wear foundation and no concealer, pick a light foundation that has a med

10 Minute Winter Makeup

This look is perfect for winter or late autumn, it gives you that "just stepped in from the cold" look. It'll take you no longer than ten minutes, which is nice when it is dark in the morning, or on those days when you favour sleep over beauty. Face: 1. Start with a nourishing/hydrating face primer. In the winter our skin tends to get dryer, and is more exposed to the harsh elements such as wind, snow and the drying heat. Jessie's Picks: Hourglass No28 Primer, this primer is amazing, it starts out quite oily, but it does absorb very quickly into the skin. 2. Buff a light reflecting foundation or a cream foundation into the skin. Pick a foundation that is more hydrating and gives a dewy finish. This will help you look more healthy admist all the drying heat and wind of the winter.  (If you need to apply a creamy, highlighting concealer) Jessie's Picks: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. Mac Studio Tech Foundation. 3. Apply a baby pink blush to your cheeks. Think

Naturally Glamorous Everyday Makeup

Face: 1. Start by applying a tinted moisturizer to fresh and clean skin. Blend well into the skin and apply a second layer where any extra coverage or moisture is needed. 2. Follow up by applying a highlighting and illuminating concealer under your eyes, and slightly thicker concealer over any blemishes or imperfections you wish to conceal. 3. Apply a cream blush in a cool pink or peach shade just along your cheek bone, and a slightly brighter shade to the apples of your cheeks. This will give you a healthy pop of colour. Remember to blend, blend, blend. Tip: If you can see a line of blush on your face, you haven't blended the edges enough. 4. If you like you can set your face with a translucent powder, or you can leave the makeup as is for a dewy glow. Eyes: 1. Apply a matte cream coloured shadow all over your lid. 2. Next blend a matte brown shade into your crease, and the outer corner of the eye. This will elongate the eye and make it appear wider. 3. Line your upper la
