Everyday Makeup Routine and OOTD: Lace, Leopard, and Red Lips

Hello everyone! I bring you yet another lace filled ootd. If you can't tell, lace is my favourite, and so is leopard print... So I combined both today! My dress is from a thrift store, so I'm not sure what brand it is, but I've never really liked how it looked on me, I found that it drew attention right to my hip area which seemed unflattering. I decided to give it another try and I think it is actually quite cute, even if it is a little unflattering. My shoes are from the Gap and were a Christmas gift from my parents. A big addition to my leopard family these shoes help to fuel my obsession with the print, and believe me, I own a lot of leopard.  My hair is still a bit wavy from curling it two days ago, and on my lips is Rimmel Apocalips Lips Lacquer in Big Bang.  If you want to see how I did my makeup like this you can watch the video below. It is super simple, and as there is nothing on the eyes it is great if you are having a lazy day.  x

Summer Lace OOTD and Natural Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today's OOTD is my favourite summer look. Lace, loose waves, and a natural makeup look. It was nice and warm today so I brought out one of my favourite dresses. It is from American Eagle, and was given to me by one of my friends a few years ago. I like that it is strapless as when I am outside enjoying the sunshine I don't have to worry about awkward tan lines! I went with a natural and glowing makeup look today, and I even filmed it for you! You can watch the video below. It is inspired by the gorgeous Gigi Hadid. xx Jess Instagram: jessicakinnari

Whatever Wednesday: OOTD + Mini Hardy Candy and Wet n Wild Haul/Review

Hello everyone! Today's ootd is super comfy and casual, although not the coolest outfit (I mean that in the temperature sense and the fashion sense). Sometimes you just have to pull out the classics and today was one of those days, as I had to fill out some forms and make some phone calls (some in French which made me a little nervous).  I pulled out some old jeans which have sparkly rhinestones on them so they make me very happy. I am a firm believer in putting rhinestones on everything, and of monogramming everything... Monogrammed with rhinestones.  My shirt is just a simple t-shirt from Athletic Works, and I wore mt leopard print flip flops from Ardenes. On my lips is Mac'c Velvet Teddy and I currently don't have on any nail polish as all of my nails decided to break off! You'll have to excuse my hair, but these are just my natural waves in my third day hair.  I filmed a short review/ haul video for you which you can watch  here . I hope you are a

Makeup Monday: Dramatic Midnight Smokey Eye- Prom, Clubbing, Wedding

Hello everyone! I know most people's prom season is over, but I still wanted to film a more dramatic makeup look for you. So I tried to create one that was versatile and not too "prom-ish". This eye makeup is very dark but it will work for all skin tones and I used all drugstore eye products, so yay-affordable!  You can watch the video here : Face: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in 2 Covergirl Translucent Powder Rimmel Highlighting Concealer Elf Bronzer in St Lucia How I did the eyes: 1. I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden.  2. I applied Annabelle Kohl Eye Liner in Black Ink all over my eyelid, and then blended it with a flat eye shadow brush. I also ran it underneath my eye and blended it out.  3. Over top of the blended liner I applied a shimmery dark blue eyeshadow from Avon all over my lid, and aalong my lower lashline. By putting the eyeliner underneath it int

Rainy OOTD + May Favourites!

Today's OOTD features my new good friend- Mr. Umbrella. It has been raining a lot here recently, and the grey dreariness reflects my mood lately, so I ventured just outside my front door to quickly snap some outfit pictures. This outfit is very comfortable, and to be honest, I put my makeup on and got dressed at #pm just to take these pictures. My dress is from Forever 21, shoes are from Aldo, and on my lips is Mac's Velvet Teddy which is definitely a new favourite. It has been in my makeup bag for ages and I never really loved it. Now it's matte texture and perfect warm beige is my go to.  For today's Whatever Wednesday video I filmed for you my May Favourites. You can watch the video here . Outfits for Cold Spring/Summer Days

Cute Warm Outfits For Spring Men and Women   Hello everyone! I know that I keep saying that it is summer, however it really is still only the beginning of June, so the consistent hot weather is still a ways away. Today was quite windy and chilly, so I thought that I would create an outfit set based on the weather. Here are 4 ways make your summer outfits warmer and still cute! 1. Wear A Long-Sleeve Shirt (or Dress) . Adding sleeves can warm up and outfit instantly, and you can always find nice long-sleeve shirts and dresses in summery colours. There are lot's of options for lighter materials and bright colours so as not to be too warm and drab. Long sleeve maxi dresses and tunics are favourites for spring, and they are some of the most versatile pieces. 2. Wear Tights or Pants.  If you have decided to wear a dress add some nylons or tights underneath. If you want to add a pop of colour there is an infinite variety of coloured and textured tights. They can really spice u

Beauty Thursday: Lip and Skincare Products Haul

Since coming home from school I seem to have collected a number of new lip products, and one new skincare product. Granted 3 of these were free- and technically the other two were as well because my Mom paid for them... But regardless! They all magically snaked their way into my makeup bag in the first 2 days I was home. I have tried almost all of them, and they are all amazing and I would highly recommend them.  Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella:  The perfect deep, matte red this lip pencil is now a firm favourite. It goes on smoothly and the opaque colour lasts all day, even with eating, etc. Although this is a matte finish I didn't find the formula drying, nor did it emphasize any of the lines on my lips. If you'd like to see what it looks like on, I'm wearing it in my last blog post which you can find here .  Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien:  Please no one ever ask me to pronounce this name, I'd like to think it's some cool exotic language l

OOTD: 10, 000 Views and Doggy Friends

Thank you so much for 10, 000 views! While it might not seem that big of a milestone I am so grateful and so very blessed to be able to see my little hobby shared with so many wonderful people. Today, as if in celebration, the sun sun came out! And it was even a good hair day-which for third day hair can sometimes be a great feat.  I just stayed at home with my puppy, as I haven't started work yet, so I busied myself with cleaning and baking some muffins- chocolate chip oatmeal muffins to be exact. When my photographer got home from school he graciously took these pictures while the sun was still shining!   My shirt was my Grandma's and I'm not sure where it is from. It has a really neat "fiery" effect, as you move the red will appear and disappear- so darn cool! My jeans are high-waisted and from Sirens, I needed to loosen the button after a couple of those muffins, but hey a girl's gotta indulge sometimes, My shoes are the same ones I'

OOTD: Vintage Polka Dots

Summer is finally here! Even though today was grey and cold it didn't discourage me from breaking out this new polka dot dress! The skirt is so flowy, and the dress has a such a flattering neckline that I fell in love with it when I saw it at the thrift store. As a student on a budget thrifting has become a nice, new  and gentler on the pocketbook   hobby. I found this dress and loved the a-line cut and vintage feel. I matched my makeup to the dress by going for a simple turquoise cat eye.  The dress is from O'Neill, shoes are from Aldo, and nail polish is Plum Power by Sally Hanson. Hope you are all enjoying the summer and sunshine! x Jess

Spring Outfits- Featuring Green

Welcome to Spring! With the weather being above zero almost everyday, I think I can dare to say that spring has arrived. Although I'm not a fan of the mud or water (you're looking at someone who hates messes) I do love the fresh warm air and the cheery spirit that spring brings. Along with the warmer weather comes bright and cheerful fashions! Goodbye drab woolen sweaters and clunky winter boots, hello peach dresses and heels. I thought that I would put together a couple of outfit sets, of different kinds and styles, to help provide some inspiration for all your new spring outfit choices. I decided to have a little fun and incorporate something green into every outfit. Although not very green out right now, we should start to see some nice grass and a few perfect little buds on the trees.  The first outfit is for a night out, or if you like to be fancy like me, an everyday pretty ensemble. A pink or peach a-line dress creates an elegant silhouette while a well-cut,

Spring Inspired: Bright Eyes and Purple Lips

Today's makeup look is inspired by Spring! Although here Spring seems to be playing tricks on us as it is currently snowing while I'm typing away. Oh well! Maybe we can entice Spring into returning with our bright lipstick.   I started off by priming my skin with  Benefit the Porefessional . This primer fills in my pores and keeps make base makeup on all day. For my foundation, I chose  L'Oreal Lumi Foundation in N1, which leaves my skin with a nice glowy finish, which is a nice refreshment from the Winter mattes. As a highlighting concealer is used Rimmel 2 in 1 Match Perfection Concealer . I applied this in a triangle under my eyes, around my nose, on my forehead, and along the sides of my chin.  To conceal my blemishes I chose Revlon Colourstay Concealer . It is my favourite concealer to cover any type of blemish or imperfection. To powder my skin and set all of this makeup in place I reached for my handy Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder . This is ju

February Favourites 2015

Welcome to my February favourites and my first favourites post of 2015! I actually didn't buy any beauty related items in February, so there are just products that I have had for a while and thought that it was about time I get my moneys worth. Favourites this month:  Nivea Creme- This is a super thick moisturizer, rumoured to be used by the Duchess of Cambridge, and it great if you have dry or dehydrated skin. Skin tends to lose its moisture in the winter, as well as during the changes of season. This moisturizer was $1.50 at Target, and you get quite a bit of product. A little goes a long way, it keeps your skin moisturized, and is a great base for makeup.  Revlon Colourstay Concealer in 02 Light- I picked this concealer up in 2 shades 02 Light and 04 Medium that way I don't have to purchase another concealer once I start to get a little more tan. This is a very thin formula but with great coverage. I really like it on blemishes, and initially I didn't lik

How to Buy High End Makeup- For Cheaper!

High end makeup can be great! There are always a few products that we are lusting over and that are the latest craze. But what most people aren't lusting over is shelling out $50 plus for one item of makeup. I know that I definitely don't feel right paying that amount unless I have at least 3 items in my basket. Especially when you are in university and/or not working buying high end makeup can seem unreasonable. However here are a few tips and tricks to help you satisfy your expensive makeup craving, but keep your wallet happy as well.  TIP #1: Buy things in travel size.   Not only is it more practical for your budget, travel size products also give you a chance to try out the latest products or cult classics without having to commit to the full size (and full price). They also fit better in your makeup bag, which if you have a similar problem to me, can help with saving space for all of the other million products that you keep in there. Travel size products s

Spring Bright Lips Trend 2015

From L-R: Yves Rocher Sheer and Shine Lipstick in No1, Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stain in Audacious and Lovesick, Yves Rocher Rouge D'Ragee in No 66, Revlon Lipstick in Siren  Welcome to March! Which also means Happy Spring! Although if your weather is anything like where I live it still feels like the dead of winter. But that doesn't mean that we can't embrace the warm and sunny lipsticks that go along with Spring (and maybe the nice Spring weather will take the hint and make an appearance).  There are so many options out there so it is impossible not to find something for everyone. And none of the choices have to be expensive, all of the lip colours pictured are from the drugstore yet are still fantastic quality and have great pigmentation.  The many different (and cheaper) options can help try out all sorts of different colours, and formulas. An opaque lipstick can be a little scary, so it may be best to start off with a more sheer formula. There are many
