Super Saturday: 5 Must Haves for Perfect Winter Skin

In the winter, our skin tends to look a little dull, and the harsh weather can make it dry and flaky. Here are 5 products that will help you achieve perfect glowing winter skin: 1. A moisturizing  base. Winter weather will make your skin drier and dull, so find a base that contains moisturizing ingredients and says it gives a luminous effect. Jessie's Picks:  Smashbox Liquid Halo Foundation. Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. Bobbi Brown Extra SPF 25 Tinted Moisturizing Balm. 2. A creamy concealer. For under your eyes, look for a creamy formula that blends easily, and for blemishes look for a cream to powder concealer that glides over dry patches. Jessie's Picks : Benefit Cosmetics Fake Up Concealer. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. 3. A cream blush. Using a cream blush will give you a healthy youthful glow, and will blend easier into your foundation. Jessie's Picks: Nars The Multiple. Yves Saint Laurent Creme de Blush - Soft Bl

Makeup Monday (Late): Winter Dark Lip Trend

The dark lip, à la Tom Ford, is a major trend and favourite during the fall/winter season. The lipstick can range anywhere from a more wine red to a deep and dark purple. Below is a simple makeup look that would be great for an evening out, but could also be adapted for daytime. Face: 1. Start by using a luminous foundation, preferable one that is quite light. Because we are going so dark on the lips we want to keep the rest of the face very light. Jessie's Picks: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation or Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. 2. Conceal under the eyes and any blemishes. Jessie's Picks: My usual, Mac Studio Finish Concealer for blemishes, and Clinique Airbrush Concealer for the undereyes. 3. Apply a very light warm peach blush just to your cheekbones to add a slight definition to the face. Jessie's Picks: Avon Blush in Dusty Rose or Lancome Blush in Cedar Rose (but be very very light handed with this blush). Eyes: 1. Dust a light matte cream coloured eye shadow all ov

Style Spotlight: Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham's style is envied by many people in the fashion world. After a number of successful seasons, her fashion line exhibits her love of clear cut lines, neutrals, and versatility. Not everyone has a million dollar budget to spend on clothes, but if you invest in a few select and classic pieces, you can achieve Victoria Beckham's classic look with a much cheaper price tag. Victoria's style is one that flatters almost every single body type, especially petite ladies, which is one of the reasons why her fashion line is so successful. The overall goal is to have a small neutral wardrobe that is versatile, and streamlines your body.  Here are 5 general guidelines to follow, when shopping, that we can steal from Mrs. Beckham, to help us achieve this classic look: 1. Dark colours are your best friend. A dark colour recedes, therefore wearing a darker shade, like black, dark grey, or navy blue, will minimize anything you wish to hide. It will also allow you to high

Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Makeup Monday: Victoria Beckham Makeup Look

Victoria Beckham is a style icon, and personally one of my top fashion and beauty inspirations. Her fashion line boasts beautiful structure and lines. One half of Britain's "other royal family" Victoria rules the fashion world with an iron fist, having recently launched another successful denim and accessories line. Her makeup hasn't changed much from her Posh Spice days, it has only become more chic and polished. Her signature smokey eye and nude lip can be adapted for any event, outfit, day or night. Here is a lighter daytime version of her signature look that Victoria has been sporting more and more often. Face: 1. Victoria has oily skin so a primer is a must. Pop a little all over your face, making sure to blend down your neck. Jessie's Pick: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer 2. Smooth a cream foundation over your face, blending it down your neck. Jessie's Picks: Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Foundation or Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Foundation. 3. Dot
