Grey Day Makeup: Using the Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

(Photo courtesy Pinterest) Hello lovely readers! I love grey cold days, and winter in Canada has plenty of those. There is nothing better then being curled up inside while it is cold, grey and rainy outside. Every time the weather is like this I do the same makeup look. It is a gold and bronze smokey eye, with a peachy/pink cheek, and a neutral or red lip (depending on my mood). It is very simple, and takes about 10-15min. It pairs nicely with grey, black, burgundy and cream coloured clothes, so it is super versatile. It also works with most hairstyles, but I prefer to wear my hair straight with this look, as I just think it looks best on me. Face: 1. Start with a foundation primer and apply it all over your face. Choose one that best fits your skin type and skincare needs. For oily skin, Benefit's The Porefessional is great, it fills in your pores and makes your skin appear airbrushed. If you have a normal skin type I'd recommend Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer,

Soft Warm Winter Makeup

Today's makeup look is inspired by all the cosy Winter knits. It is soft, gold, and glowing, kind of like firelight. The eyes are a shimmery soft gold and champagne, paired with peachy gold cheeks, and lips. Face: 1. Start with a moisturizing face primer, and using a flat foundation brush blend it all over your face. Try: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer or Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer. 2. Using the same brush blend a tinted moisturizer into your skin, making sure to bring it down the next. By using more hydrating base products it will protect your skin from all the harsh drying elements of winter. If you don't have a tinted moisturizer simple mix a little bit of your face moisturizer into your foundation or concealer. Try: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer or Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer. 3. Dab a luminous concealer underneath your eyes in a v-shape to highlight, around your nose, and above the browbone. Take the foundation brush

Jennifer Stano David Makeup Look

(Courtesy of jenniferstano.com) Hello lovely readers! I have recently discovered Jennifer Stano David's blog and I am in love with her and her writing style. She is the owner and designer of the amazing Have Faith Swimgerie and married to very successful business man Alki David. Her everyday makeup look is gorgeous, very natural and pretty, so I thought I would recreate it. I'm going to recreate her look from around 2010 as that was one of my favourites.  Face: 1. Start off by washing, toning, and moisturizing your face. This will create a fresh and clean blank canvas to work on.  2. Apply your favourite light-medium coverage concealer underneath your eyes, around your nose, and onto any blemishes. Then using your fingers or a brush pat the concealer until it blends seamlessly into your skin.  3. On a super fluffy face or bronzer brush take a slightly shimmery bronzer and buff it beneath your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and along your jawline. To matc
