Spring Inspired: Bright Eyes and Purple Lips

Today's makeup look is inspired by Spring! Although here Spring seems to be playing tricks on us as it is currently snowing while I'm typing away. Oh well! Maybe we can entice Spring into returning with our bright lipstick.   I started off by priming my skin with  Benefit the Porefessional . This primer fills in my pores and keeps make base makeup on all day. For my foundation, I chose  L'Oreal Lumi Foundation in N1, which leaves my skin with a nice glowy finish, which is a nice refreshment from the Winter mattes. As a highlighting concealer is used Rimmel 2 in 1 Match Perfection Concealer . I applied this in a triangle under my eyes, around my nose, on my forehead, and along the sides of my chin.  To conceal my blemishes I chose Revlon Colourstay Concealer . It is my favourite concealer to cover any type of blemish or imperfection. To powder my skin and set all of this makeup in place I reached for my handy Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder . Thi...

Grey and Cranberry OOTD

Time to take pictures with the snow while it's still here! The weather forecast is predicting a rainy Christmas so I thought I should take advantage of the pretty snow while I could. Please observe the staple ice covered tree branches as well. Today was spent with my family doing a few last minute Christmas things and eating 5 more cupcakes.  I decided, yet again, to be comfy so I just wore a classic knit sweater and jeans. My jeans are from H&M and the sweater is from Fairweather (I also have it in a number of other shades). For makeup I used my Avon Perfect Color Palette in Cool which has a gorgeous range of aubergine eye shadows and cool pink blushes. My hair did its own thing today after I took down from a french braid, so I kind of just went with it. Definitely thinking about changing up the colour soon, as much as I love my ombre I think it is time for a change. Suggestions?   xo Jess Twitter: @jessicadonna_ Youtube: Jessica Kinnari ...

Makeup Monday (Late): Winter Dark Lip Trend

The dark lip, à la Tom Ford, is a major trend and favourite during the fall/winter season. The lipstick can range anywhere from a more wine red to a deep and dark purple. Below is a simple makeup look that would be great for an evening out, but could also be adapted for daytime. Face: 1. Start by using a luminous foundation, preferable one that is quite light. Because we are going so dark on the lips we want to keep the rest of the face very light. Jessie's Picks: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation or Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. 2. Conceal under the eyes and any blemishes. Jessie's Picks: My usual, Mac Studio Finish Concealer for blemishes, and Clinique Airbrush Concealer for the undereyes. 3. Apply a very light warm peach blush just to your cheekbones to add a slight definition to the face. Jessie's Picks: Avon Blush in Dusty Rose or Lancome Blush in Cedar Rose (but be very very light handed with this blush). Eyes: 1. Dust a light matte cream coloured eye shadow all ov...
