Drugstore Haul (Rimmel, Maybelline, and Hard Candy)

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a restful and enjoyable Sunday. The nice, warmer weather is still here so I am enjoying it while it lasts. Today I decided to do a mini haul post for you, mostly lipsticks but a new concealer as well. Rimmel is my favourite drugstore lipstick brand and as you can see I bought another three of their lipsticks.

I picked up two of the new Rimmel lipsticks from their Moisture Renew range. I think they released these a few years ago, then discontinued them, but now it seems they have brought them back. I got As You Want Victoria which is a blue based bright fuchsia which seems perfect for grey winter days, and Summer Angel which is a very shimmery peachy nude. Truthfully, I only bought Summer Angel because it was Anna Saccone favourite of the line... Not really sure how I actually feel about it, but maybe it will grow on me and I think it will be lovely in the summer. I don't recommend buying lipstick this way, pick ones that you like :)

I didn't actually buy this red lipstick today, it was among the many lipsticks in my basket here at home, but I realized that I'd never opened it so I thought that I would include it in this haul. It is Maybelline's Very Cherry lipstick and it's a bright red. Although not very cherry coloured, more of a strawberry-orangey red. I like the formula of Maybelline lipsticks, as they are a bit more dry, so I can't wait to try this one out. It's a very Taylor Swift colour so I may use it in an upcoming tutorial.

The final lipstick I picked up is a blogger and Youtuber favourite and that is Rimmel Kate 01. This is a true blue red and I have seen so many bloggers use it and it seems to look great on everyone. This might just be my Holy Grail red. I haven't found a blue red lipstick that I love so I have high expectations for this one (my favourite orangey-red is Bite Beauty's Matte Lip Colour in Maraschino). I believe this a matte lipstick so I think it will have great staying power which is good for long nights out   school days.

From Left to Right Top Row: Rimmel Kate Moss 01, Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick Very Cherry
Bottom Row: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Summer Angel, Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in As You Want Victoria
Above are all the lipsticks swatched, the Rimmel lipsticks are all super creamy and very pigmented. The Maybelline lipstick took a couple swipes to get a really good swatch.

I also picked up some new concealer. I was in the market for a full coverage concealer, as right now I am just using a sheer/highlighting one. After doing my research this one was the winner and it is Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer. A tiny drop goes a very long way and so will your $6. I bought it in the shade Medium/Light so it may be a tad dark, but with blending I'm sure it will be fine. If not I'm really not too upset about going and also buying the shade lighter (I really can't get over the $6 price tag).
The picture to the right shows it swatched, and it feels very creamy, blendable, and light. The concealer also comes with a little concealer pencil which will be great to run along the lipline to create a highlight. It would also work well inside the lower waterline.

I'm going to leave with a shot of my nails today, I went with a bright Barbie pink and I just had to show you. I'm wearing Sally Hanson's Hot Magenta Polish, and I think it is a great match for my new fuchsia lipstick. Cue matching lips and nails post.

That's all for today! Hope you are having a great last weekend of 2014.

xx

Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Throwback Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! If you know me, you'll know that I have a slight makeup problem... I have way too much! But I can't help it, I just love it so, and I honestly look forward to putting my makeup on every morning. So today I decided I would do a quick post on my fave go to glam look for daytime. It looks quite heavy, but because I'm using mineral makeup it feels like I'm wearing no face makeup at all! My skin is quite sensitive and dry, so for the longest time I thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for my skin, but boy was I wrong! I was at Winners recently and saw that they had a couple Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral makeup sets on sale for $14... So I thought I'd try it out, and now I can never go back to regular liquid foundations! Mineral makeup is considered to be better for your skin as it is natural, and usually only contains 3-4 natural ingredients. Bellapierre foundation has an SPF of 15 which can cause a little bit of flashback, so if ...
