Let's Talk: Luxury Beauty

Ooh la la! Luxury beauty products have always been a passion of mine (or addiction, depends who you ask), so I've decided to round up some of my faves and share them with you. All of these products are 1) ones I've used up and repurchased 2) products that I truly believe are worth your hard earned money. Most of them are base products, because those are the products I think you should invest in the most but I promise that I will put up some posts luxury eyes and lippie products too!

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation
Ultra matte, ultra long wearing, ultra amazing! This is my go to foundation in the summer. It is full coverage, blends well and lasts all day. It's so matte that sometimes I skip the setting powder just wear foundation.

$63 at Sephora.

Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer
I don't have words to describe how much I love this concealer. I've purchased it countless times, and never had any complaints about the product. It covers dark circles, doesn't crease and can be set with a light dusting of powder. I will say that after a while you need to shake the product before using as it can separate a little bit if not used in a while.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes
I've always struggled with dark circles and so used a heavy concealer underneath my eyes, but also unfortunately always struggled to find a setting powder that did not make my undereyes look dry, or cake to the concealer. Until I started using this powder, that is! The brightening effects is subtle, but the powder is finely milled, doesn't cake and keeps my under eye concealer is place all day.

$37 at Sephora.

Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder
I love to dust this powder over my matte foundations! It brings my skin back to life, and gives you a gorgeous glow with any glitter or blinding shimmer. Very pricy, but lasts a long time! I would compare it to the Hourglass Ambient Light Powders, but it's a much more subtle version.

$50 at Sephora.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
A holy grail for a reason! While I don't love this powder for baking, I do love it for setting my face. It stands up to the 80% humidity and keeps my face matte. Another perk? You get a ton of product!

$51 at Sephora.

Tom Ford Lip Colour in Scarlet Rouge
The most luxurious and expensive lipstick that I own, and my favourite red. Is it a ridiculous price? Yes! But do you get what you pay for? Also, yes! This lipstick lasts all day, doesn't fade, and is very very pigmented. If your lips are a bit dry, it won't settle into the fine lines, or make you lips look flakey. It goes on smooth, and lasts that way all day.  If I could only bring one lipstick to a desert island, this would be the one.

$73 at Sephora.

If you want to check out Anna's blog click  here  (her blog is obviously in Norwegian so you'll have to press the translate button). I searched her blog and tried to use the same products that she does. Let's get started on her makeup look! Face: 1. Start with your favourite face primer. Jessie's Picks: Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Primer. Korres Greek Yoghurt Face Primer. 2. Next apply your concealer underneath your eyes and on any blemishes. Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Throwback Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! If you know me, you'll know that I have a slight makeup problem... I have way too much! But I can't help it, I just love it so, and I honestly look forward to putting my makeup on every morning. So today I decided I would do a quick post on my fave go to glam look for daytime. It looks quite heavy, but because I'm using mineral makeup it feels like I'm wearing no face makeup at all! My skin is quite sensitive and dry, so for the longest time I thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for my skin, but boy was I wrong! I was at Winners recently and saw that they had a couple Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral makeup sets on sale for $14... So I thought I'd try it out, and now I can never go back to regular liquid foundations! Mineral makeup is considered to be better for your skin as it is natural, and usually only contains 3-4 natural ingredients. Bellapierre foundation has an SPF of 15 which can cause a little bit of flashback, so if ...
