Light and Bright (...isn't that a kids toy) Summer Makeup Look

It's getting be that time of the summer. The excitement of having no school school has past (maybe not for some), and the increasing heat it getting to us. I find the best way to make myself feel better, is a nice cold drink and pretty makeup!

This year's 2013 Summer Collections the models were sporting flawless skin, and bright lips .So here's a makeup look that won't melt off your face or come off on your glass.

1. Base

Start with sunscreen, this is important! It will prevent you from getting age spots and dark spots when you are older.  Jessie's Picks: Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunscreen is great, it will give you a more matte finish (especially if you are only looking to wear sunscreen) and comes in SPF 70. Price: $10.99.  Kiehls Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50 is also great, it is oil-free and protects against UVA and UVB rays. Price: $36 for 50ml

BB or CC Cream. No one wants to wear heavy foundation in the summer, it'll clog your pores, and make you feel like you're wearing a mask. So on trend with all the latest CC and BB creams, grab one of favourites and smooth it on with your fingers like you would your moisturizer. These guys are great because most contain some form of SPF and they are great for your skin while at the same time providing a little bit of coverage. Jessie's Picks: Boscia B.B. Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 27 PA++ is oil-free and formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, or Pthalates. Price: $46 for 1.75 oz. Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, either the original or new Combination/Oily formula. Price: 14.99

Skip concealer! Unless of course you feel you desperately need it, then apply under the eyes, and on any blemishes you may have. Jessie's Picks: Clinique's Airbrush Concealer, gives a light coverage as well it highlights and illuminates the under eye area (This is my Holy Grail of under eye concealers). Price: $26 for 0.05 oz. If you're looking for more coverage and to hide blemishes, Maybelline Superstay 24hr Concealer is nice. Although you have to blend it fast as it sets quickly, however when it sets, it stays there, no need for powder. Price: $9.99 for 5.5ml.

Apply a cream blush OR skip it altogether. Because we used such a light BB or CC cream, our natural flush will come through. But if you are wearing this to a BBQ or just want a little bit more colour, cream blush is the way to go. It is more or less water proof, and you don't have to worry about it getting splotchy or patchy like a powder would. Apply the blush along your cheek bones or just the apples or your cheeks and blend with your finger or a synthetic brush ( as creams damage natural hair bristles). Applying the blush just along your cheeks bones will slim a rounder face, and applying it to the apples of your cheeks will make a slimmer face appear fuller. Jessie's Picks: Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral. Price: $30 for 0.13 oz. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Hot Tamale. Price: $6.99

2. Eyes

Fill in your eyebrows (if necessary). Eye brows frame your face, and filling them in, or if you already have pretty bushy eye brows like I do, defining them is essential. And will look better in photos. Using a clear brow gel, a pencil or a powder to define your brows frames your eyes. Define or fill in your brows by using short feathery strokes in the direction of your hair. If you are using a powder, use a stiff angled brush to get the most natural look. After you have defined your brows, either with a pencil or powder, brush them through with a spooly. This softens them and will help them appear more natural. A spooly looks like a clean mascara wand, most brow pencils come with one on the end. Jessie's Picks: Pencils: Clinique's Superfine Liner for Brows. Price: $16.50. Maybelline Define A Brow Eyebrow Pencil Price: $5.97. Powder: Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings Price: $36.00. Mac Eyeshadow in Brun Price: $16.50. Gel: Anastasia Brow Gel in Clear Price: $29.99. Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara in Clear Price :$4.99

Curl your eyelashes.

Apply Waterproof Mascara. Waterproof will prevent your mascara smudging from sweat, or if you decide to take a dip in the pool. Jessie's Picks: Benefit BadGal Waterproof Mascara Price: $19. Almay One Coat Thickening Waterproof Mascara Price: $10.99

3. Lips

Apply a bright lipstain. This will let you eat, drink, and not worry about whether or not your lipstick is wearing off. A bright lip colour also brings the look together, and allows you to wear less makeup. Jessie's Picks: Yves Saint Laurent ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain in Orange de Chine Price: $36. Almay Colour and Care Liquid Lip Balm in Apple a Day Price: $9.99

And that completes it! It's light but gives a you a polished comfortable look. So go out, have fun, and forget about your makeup.

xx

Anna Edwin is a Norwegian blogger. She began her blog in 2009 and she blogs about everything from hair to bowling (well maybe not actually bowling). Makeup Monday: Victoria Beckham Makeup Look

Victoria Beckham is a style icon, and personally one of my top fashion and beauty inspirations. Her fashion line boasts beautiful structure and lines. One half of Britain's "other royal family" Victoria rules the fashion world with an iron fist, having recently launched another successful denim and accessories line. Her makeup hasn't changed much from her Posh Spice days, it has only become more chic and polished. Her signature smokey eye and nude lip can be adapted for any event, outfit, day or night. Here is a lighter daytime version of her signature look that Victoria has been sporting more and more often. Face: 1. Victoria has oily skin so a primer is a must. Pop a little all over your face, making sure to blend down your neck. Jessie's Pick: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer 2. Smooth a cream foundation over your face, blending it down your neck. Jessie's Picks: Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Foundation or Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Foundation. 3. Dot
