Welcome to one of my most requested blog posts: my skincare routine. One of my goals for April was to be consistent with my skincare routine! I've been using these products for about 8 weeks now, and feel like I know how they work for my skin now. All products are from Monat, they're vegan, plant based & sustainable.   Cleanser I use this cleanser first thing in the morning and right after removing my makeup in the evening.  This is the Be Balanced Foaming Cleanser. It's for oily-combo skin, which is my skin type during the summer! It helps to purify your skin without stripping it, and I feel like my face is very clean after cleansing  Essence To prep my skin for serum, I use the Skin Revitalizing Essence. I put a few shakes into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together to warm it up and then press it into the skin. The Naked 2 palette. First palette I ever panned, and first palette I ever repurchased. ⁣⁣I bought it after I saw Anna Saccone using it back in 2012!  ⁣⁣ I plan on using it up by the end of 2020, as I transition to all vegan and cruelty free products, and I know it will be a sad day once this gorgeous palette is gone! ⁣⁣ These eyeshadows go on incredibly smooth, opaque and blend like a dream! The black shade does have quite a bit of fallout, so when I use it I always make sure to do my face makeup after I apply my eyeshadow. The cool toned shades intensify my brown eyes, which I always find is difficult to do with warm toned eyeshadows. What is self care? Is it face masks every Sunday night? Bath bombs and wine?  For me, self care is investing in yourself. Buying quality skincare & haircare products, fuelling my body with better food choices, having big goals and believing I can achieve them; that's my kind of self care.  During this period of isolation, it's hard to remember to do things for yourself, since you are at home all the time and uncertain when you'll be able to leave again. Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette Does anyone else forget how good palettes are? And then when you finally get back to them it’s like an awakening? Tatcha "The Silk Canvas" Primer:  Welcome to bougie-ville! We've all heard the hype around this product, makeup artists, influencers, bloggers, YouTubers, and aunties everywhere were talking about back in 2018 – and I'm hear to tell you that it's 100% worth the hype!  This primer helps my makeup last, keep my face from getting oily throughout the day, and is like an added step of skincare.  *cue Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh" Anyone else love a good wrap dress? I can't get enough of them! They're just so flattering, no matter your body type.  As someone who's incredibly short (4'11 short) sometimes finding the right dress can be a task. Shopping for a dress goes from fun to torture very quickly! Every dress I try on, either the torso is too long, sleeves too long, the top is too low cut, etc But with wrap dresses, you can adjust how low cut the front is and because the waist is cinched you can get away with it being a little but long.  This red wrap dress is from Just Fab (can you tell they're a fave spot to shop?). I wear a size medium and it fits perfectly! I could definitely fit a small, but I generally size up as I like to avoid the dress being it being too tight in the arms and shoulders.  You can find the link to this exact dress, here . 

Is animal print the new basic? I think so!  I cannot get enough of snakeskin or leopard print items, it's honestly safe to say I am obsessed with them. The snakeskin print goes well with every colour, it can be dressed up or down, and has a place in every wardrobe. I love pairing one printed item with all black or neutrals colours, I feel like it really makes the print pop!  This bodysuit is from Guess (it's no longer on their site so I can't link it), pants are from Dynamite and my booties are from my fave JustFab. 

Could I BE anymore comfortable? Meet my fave 90's menswear inspire sweater, I call it the Chandler Bing sweater.  This navy pullover is super comfortable and oversized, but the cropped bottom helps give it a more feminine feel. ⁣This is one of my go-to outfits when I need to be comfortable, but I want to look a bit put together.  ⁣ Does anyone else love menswear inspired fashion? I just adore it, especially if it’s a little bit retro. ⁣

A little note on body positivity... ⁣ ⁣ I've struggled for the past 10 years to accept my body for the way it is, and this makes taking outfit pictures incredibly difficult for me. The day I took this picture I was taking outfit photos for the week, using my self timer... and when I went to look at the photos every time I prepared myself for them to look “ugly”. ⁣ ⁣ I thought I would look too fat, too pale, to this or too that. And naturally when I first look at the photos I hated them all for one reason or another. ⁣ ⁣ And then I took a step back. ⁣ ⁣ If I was expecting a negative result, of course I’d have a negative reaction to absolutely every photo. ⁣ ⁣ So I had to actively work on my mindset for the rest of the day, and while it’s a difficult exercise at first it’s really important. Appreciating yourself is necessary, putting yourself down is not. ⁣ ⁣ So here’s one of the photos that was too this or that. ⁣ ⁣ I love it. ⁣

If you know me, you know how much I love country anything. Country music, country decor and country style outfits just make my heart sing. While my daily footwear has long been an updated take on the cowboy boot, I've been introducing more country chic dresses into my wardrobe. This crochet trim dress from Just Fab is one of my latest purchases. The crochet trim detail around the waist creates a super flattering shape, and bring such a nice feminine touch. The clay pot colour enhances my skin tone both when I am tan and pale – which is a huge win in my book! Hello everyone! Ever buy slightly unripened bananas and the next day they are already overly ripe? Want to go from overly ripe bananas to beautiful, yummy banana bread in only one hour? If you answered yes to one or both of those questions, then this recipe may be for you! (Okay, maybe there were a few days in between the unripe and ripe bananas) This recipe is simple, quick and quite inexpensive. I went to the store and added up the cost of all of the ingredients, and the total came to around $16. Not too high a price, especially if you are going to use the loaf for a potluck or for a yummy homemade Christmas gift. Hello everyone! If you know me, you'll know that I have a slight makeup problem... I have way too much! But I can't help it, I just love it so, and I honestly look forward to putting my makeup on every morning. So today I decided I would do a quick post on my fave go to glam look for daytime. It looks quite heavy, but because I'm using mineral makeup it feels like I'm wearing no face makeup at all! My skin is quite sensitive and dry, so for the longest time I thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for my skin, but boy was I wrong! I was at Winners recently and saw that they had a couple Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral makeup sets on sale for $14... So I thought I'd try it out, and now I can never go back to regular liquid foundations! Mineral makeup is considered to be better for your skin as it is natural, and usually only contains 3-4 natural ingredients. I've been loving knit sweater and pencil skirts this fall, and one of my favourites is this sweater from Garage. This cable knit sweater is so comfy, easy to wash, and looks so elegant with a pencil skirt. Yes, I did say tent.  My roommates and I decided to set up a tent in our living room, and once filled with blankets and pillows it the perfect escape from the cold. After we all get home, we snuggle up inside and turn on our favourite TV show, which happens to be Real Housewives of Vancouver (Paige is going to kill me for saying that).  Hot chocolate and cozy pajamas are of course a must! My choice will always be  these  leopard ones from Target but as you can't get them in Canada anymore, adore me has some super cute sets, some girlie and some more classic.  I have to say the best hot chocolate by far is that cookie flavoured one... I think it's honestly just called chocolate chip cookie hot chocolate, I unfortunately can't remember the brand! Light some candle...

Hello everyone! I bring you yet another lace filled ootd. If you can't tell, lace is my favourite, and so is leopard print... So I combined both today! My dress is from a thrift store, so I'm not sure what brand it is, but I've never really liked how it looked on me, I found that it drew attention right to my hip area which seemed unflattering. I decided to give it another try and I think it is actually quite cute, even if it is a little unflattering. My shoes are from the Gap and were a Christmas gift from my parents. A big addition to my leopard family these shoes help to fuel my obsession with the print, and believe me, I own a lot of leopard.  My hair is still a bit wavy from curling it two days ago, and on my lips is Rimmel Apocalips Lips Lacquer in Big Bang.  If you want to see how I did my makeup like this you can watch the video below. Hello everyone! Today's OOTD is my favourite summer look. Lace, loose waves, and a natural makeup look. It was nice and warm today so I brought out one of my favourite dresses. It is from American Eagle, and was given to me by one of my friends a few years ago. I like that it is strapless as when I am outside enjoying the sunshine I don't have to worry about awkward tan lines!
