Style Saturday: Winter Woollies

Welcome to Style Saturday! Today was nice, sunny and only -12 (yes you read that right). It's my first full day home for the Winter break so I spent it enjoying my family and decorating our Christmas tree. I decided to be comfy today so I chose to wear a warm knit turtlenecked jumper and some high-waisted jeans. The knit sweater is my Mom's and I think quite old so I'm not too sure wear it if from; it has really nice detailing on the sleeves and that just makes the sweater a little bit more glam. The jeans are from Sirens and are very stretchy. I prefer the dark wash jeans as they hide a multitude of sins like that half round of cheese I just ate . Even though they are highwaisted they are still comfortable to sit in and that is a win in my books. The outfit was super comfy, simple and warm which is perfect for our Canadian winter.  For my beauty routine I kept it very simple with well moisturized skin, natural makeup and I just wore my hair in a ponytail....

Soft Warm Winter Makeup

Today's makeup look is inspired by all the cosy Winter knits. It is soft, gold, and glowing, kind of like firelight. The eyes are a shimmery soft gold and champagne, paired with peachy gold cheeks, and lips. Face: 1. Start with a moisturizing face primer, and using a flat foundation brush blend it all over your face. Try: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer or Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer. 2. Using the same brush blend a tinted moisturizer into your skin, making sure to bring it down the next. By using more hydrating base products it will protect your skin from all the harsh drying elements of winter. If you don't have a tinted moisturizer simple mix a little bit of your face moisturizer into your foundation or concealer. Try: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer or Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer. 3. Dab a luminous concealer underneath your eyes in a v-shape to highlight, around your nose, and above the browbone. Take the foundation brush...

Warm and Cosy Autumn Nature Inspired Makeup Look

Autumn is my absolute favourite season! I love the weather, fashion, makeup, and of course all the delicious food. Today's makeup look a daytime look inspired by the warm colours of nature during autumn. It focuses on warm eyes, healthy looking skin, and a warm lip.  Face: 1. Start with a medium coverage matte or semi-matte finish foundation and using your fingers or a brush, blend the product into your skin. If you have fairly good skin don't apply foundation everywhere, just dab it where you need a little coverage or skip this step all together.  Clinique Even Better Foundation or Maybelline Superstay 24hr Foundation. 2.  To brighten up your under eye area and keep you looking fresh and awake, apply a light concealer underneath your eyes in a V shape. This will bring light to the centre of the face and appear as a more natural highlight. Apply concealer around your nose, and onto your eye lid to act as a base. Blend out t...

GRWM: Natural Daytime Makeup

Hello Everyone! Today's makeup look is a soft natural daytime look. This look is perfect for everyday as it is glowy and fresh with nothing too heavy. This is my go to makeup look recently as I love me a glowy bronze natural look.  Face: 1. Start off by applying a tinted moisturizer or bb cream to your face and blend outwards using your fingers. This will create a nice dewy, sheer finish. I used Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium/Deep.  2. Next dab a highlighting concealer underneath your eyes in a v shape, around you nose, and onto you chin. Blend this with a dense concealer brush. I used Rimmel 2 in 1 Match Perfection Concealer in Light/ Medium 3. Take a bronzing powder on an angled brush and contour your face. Brush it under your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and underneath your jawline. I used ELF Contour Bronzer in St Lucia. 4. To brighten up your face apply a peachy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and up onto your cheekbone. I used ...

Super Quick and Easy Bronze Eye Makeup

Hello everyone! Today's look is a quick and super simple bronze eye makeup. It is fresh, goes fabulous with any eye colour, and is great for days when you want to channel your inner Greek goddess.  1. Starting off, take a cream shimmery taupe eye shadow and apply it all over your eye lid. Slightly blend out the edges using your fingers.  Take a bit of product on a small eyeliner brush and run the colour along your lower lashline.  2. Next take a cream shimmery champagne eye shadow and apply it to the inner corner of your eye using your ring finger. I used Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded .   3. Take a flat eye shadow brush and add a dark bronze eye shadow onto the outer v of your eyelid, then blend it up into the crease. I used Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Smog from the original Naked Palette. Pop a little bit of the colour along the outer half of your lower lashline.  4. Grab a fluffy eye shadow brush and blend out the edges of yo...

"Feeling Sick" Day Makeup

Hi everyone! Today's makeup look is for those days when you aren't feeling to well and you want to apply some makeup to help you look (and sometimes feel) better. I think that on days like this it is super important to use products that you know and love. This will help prevent any frustration or added annoyance when applying your makeup because you will know how each item "behaves". For this look I used minimal eye makeup as well as multitasking face products that way you don't feel like you have a thick layer of foundation lying on top of your skin.  Skin/Base: 1. Before I started I applied a mattifying moisturizer, and a thick lip salve to prep my skin and lips.  2. Starting off I applied Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream in Light/Medium to my face and blended it out with my fingers. Your fingers are the best blenders and give you a sheer controlled coverage. This product can act as your primer, concealer and tinted moisturizer.  3. Next I take m...
