Super Sunday: Spring Fashion Haul

Hello Everyone! Sorry for my lack of posts, if you follow me on Twitter you will know I am the middle of production for a play right now, therefore I have no time for anything. That aside, today's post is just a quick spring haul. Last week my Mum and I popped into Stitches  for a browse and came out with all of this. First off, I got 15 pairs of socks for $5 (yes, you read that right). I got 2 packs of black and white patterns and one pack which is all vibrant neon coloured (not pictured). I got a very spring-esque peach, pink, and brown patterned scarf. This is so comfortable, soft, and warm; it goes perfectly with my jacket which is khaki green. I also grabbed some of their Aloe Makeup Remover Wipes. I picked up three cardigans, two which are two-toned (one black/grey the other beige/cream) as well as a peach coloured one. They are like big comfy wraps that are perfect for the chill in the morning, yet light enough as the weather warms throughout the day. I got th...

Fab February: Victoria's Secret Model Inspired Fashion

Victoria's Secret Models are looked to for fashion inspiration by thousands of women all  over the world. So today's Fab February is a few fashion ideas to take from the ladies at Victoria's Secret that will match your Victoria's Secret Style hair from yesterday. 1. Wear Slim Fitting Pants . Choose either skinny leg or slim cut pants in dark and classic shades. Jeggings are way more flattering than usual jeans and they hug your curves and don't make it look like you have "tree trunk" legs. Not to mention they are ten times more comfortable than regular denim. 2. Pick Solid Neutral Colours . Choosing solid coloured tops will streamline your figure and make you appear longer and leaner. They also create an interchangeable wardrobe, and take the guessing out of which patterns to pick. 3. Wear Heels . Heels lengthen you, they lift your bum, and make you look instantly thinner (the exact reasons why French women wear them everyday). When looking for ...

Fab February: Angelina Jolie Makeup Look

(Picture Courtesy of Pinterest) Welcome to the first day of Fab February! I was at the movie theatre yesterday and I saw the trailer for Angelina Jolie's new film Maleficent , and I thought why not do an Angelina Jolie makeup tutorial. So today's look is based on the picture above, and I will be using the Tarte Beauty and the Box Eye Shadow Quad in In the Buff. These eye shadows are amazing, they are so smooth and silky and have excellent pigmentation. I have been using this quad for over a year, and it is perfect for neutral makeup looks. The colours compliment any eye colour, but blue eyes will especially benefit from the bronzey shades.  Alright enough rambling here is the Angelina Jolie inspired makeup look: Face: 1. Start with your favourite sheer-medium coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer and blend it all over your face and down your neck. Jessie's Picks : L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free. 2. Apply...

I realize that, especially in Canada, winter has been in full swing for the past 4 months, but let's be in the mindset that it is almost spring! And for the month of February we can resort to a few basic clothing choices to keep us warm and sane. These clothing items are the ones that get me through the last bit of winter by keeping me warm, dry, and stylish at the same time. Blogmas Day 5: Casual Winter Style Builder

Finding comfortable and warm outfits for winter can become a tedious job, especially after you have already worn "all" of your outfits multiple times. I use these three steps as a sure fire way to have a warm , cosy, and stylish outfit everyday. 1. Pick out 3 Cardigans/ knit sweaters, 3 long sleeved shirts, 3 pairs of comfortable pants. 2. Out of the nine pieces of clothing, pick the one that best fits your mood that day. 3. Next pick one of the other remaining articles that best show off the 1st piece you chose. 4. Find a nice scarf, necklace, or bracelet to go with your outfit. 5. Choose a basic black or brown wedged bootie. Voila! Tu as un outfit! Everyday your outfit will be different depending in your mood. The trick is to pick one piece of clothing to complement. Doing this will allow you to find matching pieces that you may have never even thought about putting together. Have a warm and cosy evening!

Blogmas Day 1: Kardashian Contour

Kim Kardashian's makeup is far from minimalistic, however her contouring and highlighting techniques are with trying out. Here are the steps to getting a defined face like Kimmy- K: Step 1: Apply a much lighter concealer or cream foundation under your eyes in a triangle shape, along the cheekbone, down the bridge of your nose, on your chin and in the centre of your forehead. Step 2: Apply a much darker cream foundation or concealer in the hollows of your cheeks, along your jawline, the sides of your nose and on the sides of your forehead. Step 3: Take a light foundation in your proper shade, and use it to blend the other foundations. This will create a uniform base, but with less harsh highlighting and contouring. Step 4: Blend away any harsh lines or visible product. Continue with your makeup as normal! This contouring will give you an oval looking face, but without any heavy powders. This is the secret to flawless Hollywood skin.

Dressing for Your Body Type: Apple Shapes

If you are considered an "apple" shape, you generally have a fuller bust, broader shoulders, and a thicker mid section. However, you have slim thighs, hips, and usually arms. You are the opposite to the "pear" shape as you are "top heavy". When picking clothes, try not to draw attention to your middle, emphasize your bust and your slim hips and legs. Styles that flatter "apple" shapes: V-Neck Shirts, A-line dresses, and tops that flow out from your bust and glide over your waist. These will draw attention upwards and will elongate your torso. Try to avoid scoop and boat necked shirts, as they will cause your shoulders to appear broader. Long flowing tops/tunics that fall below your hips will accentuate your lower body, and if the have a little tie around the waist, it will give you a more defined hourglass shape. Pick solid coloured dresses, or ones with a continuous pattern. In general, smaller print patterns are more flattering. Ad...

Dressing for Your Body Type: Pear Shapes

Finally a fashion post! Everyone’s body is different, and therefore different styles flatter each person. The following post series will  give general overviews of the “basic” body shapes. However, whatever you like to wear and makes you feel the best is best for you. Pear Shapes: If you are considered a pear shape, you usually have a small to medium sized bust, small-medium waist, and are largest around your thighs and hips. In other words, you are smaller on top and bigger on the bottom. Generally, wearing a dark colour minimizes, while wearing a bright colour or pattern highl ights, therefore if you are pear shaped, wearing a darker bottom and highlighting your upper body will give you the appearance of a more hourglass figure.   Styles that Flatter Pear Shapes: -           A-Line skirts or dresses . These flatter your upper body, highlight your waist, and glide over your hips and thighs, drawing less attention to ...
