How to Apply Eyeliner (Pencil AND Gel)

Eyeliner seems to be the bane of every non-makeup addicts existence... Although maybe some makeup addicts as well. So many people have told me that they don't wear eye liner because it terrifies them and they don't know how to do it. So instead of telling each person how to apply eyeliner, I thought that it would be way easier to make a video! So I made my brother hold a camera for 15min so I could film this spectacle.  You can watch that step by step video  here . (Please excuse the shaky camera, my poor brother had no tripod to help him) A few misconceptions about eyeliner: 1. NO you will not poke your eye out. 2. Black is NOT the shade for everyone. If you are anything but dark haired please, please, please wear brown, grey or blue... Anything but black! it is not flattering at all if you are very fair. 3. Liquid liner is NOT the only way to get a dramatic or daytime look. I honestly prefer Gel/Cream and pencil liner... Liquid is just plain scary...

Style Saturday: Winter Woollies

Welcome to Style Saturday! Today was nice, sunny and only -12 (yes you read that right). It's my first full day home for the Winter break so I spent it enjoying my family and decorating our Christmas tree. I decided to be comfy today so I chose to wear a warm knit turtlenecked jumper and some high-waisted jeans. The knit sweater is my Mom's and I think quite old so I'm not too sure wear it if from; it has really nice detailing on the sleeves and that just makes the sweater a little bit more glam. The jeans are from Sirens and are very stretchy. I prefer the dark wash jeans as they hide a multitude of sins like that half round of cheese I just ate . Even though they are highwaisted they are still comfortable to sit in and that is a win in my books. The outfit was super comfy, simple and warm which is perfect for our Canadian winter.  For my beauty routine I kept it very simple with well moisturized skin, natural makeup and I just wore my hair in a ponytail....

Jennifer Stano David Makeup Look

(Courtesy of jenniferstano.com) Hello lovely readers! I have recently discovered Jennifer Stano David's blog and I am in love with her and her writing style. She is the owner and designer of the amazing Have Faith Swimgerie and married to very successful business man Alki David. Her everyday makeup look is gorgeous, very natural and pretty, so I thought I would recreate it. I'm going to recreate her look from around 2010 as that was one of my favourites.  Face: 1. Start off by washing, toning, and moisturizing your face. This will create a fresh and clean blank canvas to work on.  2. Apply your favourite light-medium coverage concealer underneath your eyes, around your nose, and onto any blemishes. Then using your fingers or a brush pat the concealer until it blends seamlessly into your skin.  3. On a super fluffy face or bronzer brush take a slightly shimmery bronzer and buff it beneath your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and along your jawline. T...

Warm and Cosy Autumn Nature Inspired Makeup Look

Autumn is my absolute favourite season! I love the weather, fashion, makeup, and of course all the delicious food. Today's makeup look a daytime look inspired by the warm colours of nature during autumn. It focuses on warm eyes, healthy looking skin, and a warm lip.  Face: 1. Start with a medium coverage matte or semi-matte finish foundation and using your fingers or a brush, blend the product into your skin. If you have fairly good skin don't apply foundation everywhere, just dab it where you need a little coverage or skip this step all together.  Clinique Even Better Foundation or Maybelline Superstay 24hr Foundation. 2.  To brighten up your under eye area and keep you looking fresh and awake, apply a light concealer underneath your eyes in a V shape. This will bring light to the centre of the face and appear as a more natural highlight. Apply concealer around your nose, and onto your eye lid to act as a base. Blend out t...

Fashion Friday: Rainy Day Jeans and Plaid Shirt

Hello everyone! Today's Fashion Friday is another outfit of the day. Today was very grey and a little rainy so I wanted to wear something that didn't take tons if brain power to come up with. I chose classic dark wash skinny jeans and a plaid button up. This button up is tailored at the back which makes it more feminine and flattering, and all I did was roll up the sleeves to make it less "dowdy" looking. My jeans are from American Eagle, the top is from Stitches, and I just wore my "cheapies" from Walmart. "Cheapies"= cheap comfy shoes. On my lips I'm wearing Revlon Soft Nude, and on my nails I have Sally Hanson Red Carpet nail colour.  On another note: I reached 10 subscribers on YouTube! And that just made my day, thank you so much and if you haven't subscribed make sure you do because there will be a giveaway once I reach 100 subscribers. If you click on the video link at the bottom of the post it will whisk you away to ...

Hello everyone! Welcome to Makeup Monday, today's makeup look is a natural and glowing summer look. It is super quick and very easy to do. This look is great for school, church, or for running errands. Face: 1. Start off with a matte or semi-matte foundation and apply it all over your face, making sure to blend it down your neck. I used Vichy Norma Teint Foundation this is a serum foundation that helps to control oil and prevent blemishes. 2. Next take an angled brush with a matte bronzer and contour your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and underneath your job. I used the Elf Contouring Bronzer in St Lucia , this is a dark bronze with a little bit of shimmer, very similar to Nars Laguna. 3. Take a shimmery peach blush and apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards. I used the blush from the Elf Contouring Blush and Bronzer in St Lucia , very similar to Nars Amour . Eyes: 1. Choose a matching brow powder and using a small angled brush fill in your...

Style Saturday: OOTD

My photographer was getting fancy with the camera. Hello everyone! Welcome to my first OOTD post. Today I went for a simple classic outfit. I wanted to be comfortable as I was just going to be around my house and running a few errands. So ultra glamour wasn't need.  I paired my black skirt from TopShop with a turquoise detailed top from Fairweather, and my shoes were just simple black wedges from Walmart (they were only $5). I also filmed a video about how to dress your "pear" bodyshape. I have a detailed post about this body type already written, and you can find that here . This outfit is great if your pear shaped because it highlights your waist and minimizes the hip area. The splash of colour uptop draws the eyes upwards.  I hope you enjoyed this post and I look forward to posting more about fashion and personal style, I'll leave with this super cute pic of my sweet doggy.  My sweetheart decided he wanted to show off his newly g...

GRWM: Natural Daytime Makeup

Hello Everyone! Today's makeup look is a soft natural daytime look. This look is perfect for everyday as it is glowy and fresh with nothing too heavy. This is my go to makeup look recently as I love me a glowy bronze natural look.  Face: 1. Start off by applying a tinted moisturizer or bb cream to your face and blend outwards using your fingers. This will create a nice dewy, sheer finish. I used Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium/Deep.  2. Next dab a highlighting concealer underneath your eyes in a v shape, around you nose, and onto you chin. Blend this with a dense concealer brush. I used Rimmel 2 in 1 Match Perfection Concealer in Light/ Medium 3. Take a bronzing powder on an angled brush and contour your face. Brush it under your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and underneath your jawline. I used ELF Contour Bronzer in St Lucia. 4. To brighten up your face apply a peachy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and up onto your cheekbone. I used ...
