Hello everyone! I'm officially back from the land of pre-production mindlessness. Since I've been gone it has turned into May so it time to break out the pretty spring lip colours. I prefer nude lip colours all year round but especially during the spring and summer. So today's post is my favourite nude lipsticks.
Rimmel Kate Lipstick Shade 14. This is a matte finish very pale nude lipstick. It works perfectly with a heavier smokey eye, and it lasts for ages. I find this colour washes me out a tiny bit if I just wear it on its own. It is definitely meant to be paired with a dramatic eye.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia. A browny-pink shade this lipstick is great for everyday. It has a semi matte finish and great lasting power. It is the perfect neutral and can be paired with any eye look. It can also glam up a simple makeup look which is perfect for days when you don't want to wear a lot of face or eye makeup.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushing Mauve. My most worn lip colour! It is about a shade to half a shade darker than my natural lip colour and I am obsessed with it. It has cool undertones and a cream finish. It does not last quite as long as the Rimmel lipsticks but I've never been too picky about how long lipstick stays put.
Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee. A sheer nude, this is like the baby sister of Rimmel Kate 14. It is moisturizing, never sticky, and super flattering whether I am pale or tan. There is a slight shimmer in this lip butter but nothing too distracting or uncomfortable.
Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle. This is the baby sister of Asia. It is a sheerer more wearable shade for school days or on weekends when you just want a little bit of colour. It is more of a raspberry/brown and is one of the darker nude colours that I own. A great thing about these lip butters is that you can try out crazy colours you never thought you'd like but you don't have to commit to a scary opaque lipstick.
Mac Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy. My favourite Mac lipstick, this shade is a warm caramel colour which, surprisingly, is quite flattering in the winter when I am fairer, and I assume it will be just as flattering in the summer. It is a matte finish, long lasting, and like most matte lip colours it is a quite drying formula. I always need to remember to exfoliate and moisturize my lips before wearing this lipstick.
That is them all! These are the six that I have worn most often (although it doesn't look like it in the photos). I rotate through them based on my mood and makeup that day.
I hope you enjoyed this post and leave me a comment or tweet me your favourite nude lipstick.
xx
