How to Apply Eyeliner (Pencil AND Gel)

Eyeliner seems to be the bane of every non-makeup addicts existence... Although maybe some makeup addicts as well. So many people have told me that they don't wear eye liner because it terrifies them and they don't know how to do it. So instead of telling each person how to apply eyeliner, I thought that it would be way easier to make a video! So I made my brother hold a camera for 15min so I could film this spectacle.  You can watch that step by step video  here . (Please excuse the shaky camera, my poor brother had no tripod to help him) A few misconceptions about eyeliner: 1. NO you will not poke your eye out. 2. Black is NOT the shade for everyone. If you are anything but dark haired please, please, please wear brown, grey or blue... Anything but black! it is not flattering at all if you are very fair. 3. Liquid liner is NOT the only way to get a dramatic or daytime look. I honestly prefer Gel/Cream and pencil liner... Liquid is just plain scary...

Jennifer Stano David Makeup Look

(Courtesy of jenniferstano.com) Hello lovely readers! I have recently discovered Jennifer Stano David's blog and I am in love with her and her writing style. She is the owner and designer of the amazing Have Faith Swimgerie and married to very successful business man Alki David. Her everyday makeup look is gorgeous, very natural and pretty, so I thought I would recreate it. I'm going to recreate her look from around 2010 as that was one of my favourites.  Face: 1. Start off by washing, toning, and moisturizing your face. This will create a fresh and clean blank canvas to work on.  2. Apply your favourite light-medium coverage concealer underneath your eyes, around your nose, and onto any blemishes. Then using your fingers or a brush pat the concealer until it blends seamlessly into your skin.  3. On a super fluffy face or bronzer brush take a slightly shimmery bronzer and buff it beneath your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and along your jawline. T...

Makeup Monday: Glowing Natural Summer Makeup

Hello everyone! Welcome to Makeup Monday, today's makeup look is a natural and glowing summer look. It is super quick and very easy to do. This look is great for school, church, or for running errands. Face: 1. Start off with a matte or semi-matte foundation and apply it all over your face, making sure to blend it down your neck. I used Vichy Norma Teint Foundation this is a serum foundation that helps to control oil and prevent blemishes. 2. Next take an angled brush with a matte bronzer and contour your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and underneath your job. I used the Elf Contouring Bronzer in St Lucia , this is a dark bronze with a little bit of shimmer, very similar to Nars Laguna. 3. Take a shimmery peach blush and apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards. I used the blush from the Elf Contouring Blush and Bronzer in St Lucia , very similar to Nars Amour . Eyes: 1. Choose a matching brow powder and using a small angled brush fill in your...

Anna Saccone Inspired Makeup

(Courtesy of annasaccone.com) Anna Saccone is the most subscribed to female Irish youtuber, the author of "The Style Diet", and 1/4 of the SacconeJoly's YouTube reality show. She also had incredible style and makeup, and so today's post is my take on my favourite of her daily makeup looks, which is very natural but polished. I loved her makeup back in July of 2013 and so that is mostly the look I am going to try and recreate.  Face: 1. Take a full coverage concealer, and dot it under your eyes, on any blemishes, or acne scars. Anna has oily, acne prone skin, and so using a heavier concealer means she can get away with wearing a lighter foundation.  Anna likes Maybelline 24hr SuperStay Concealer or Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. I used Rimmel 2 in 1 Highlighter and Concealer .  2. Blend a light BB cream or tinted moisturizer all over your face and neck. Anna likes Mac Studio Tint or Maybellline Dream Fresh BB Cream. I used Maybelline Dream ...

GRWM: Natural Daytime Makeup

Hello Everyone! Today's makeup look is a soft natural daytime look. This look is perfect for everyday as it is glowy and fresh with nothing too heavy. This is my go to makeup look recently as I love me a glowy bronze natural look.  Face: 1. Start off by applying a tinted moisturizer or bb cream to your face and blend outwards using your fingers. This will create a nice dewy, sheer finish. I used Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium/Deep.  2. Next dab a highlighting concealer underneath your eyes in a v shape, around you nose, and onto you chin. Blend this with a dense concealer brush. I used Rimmel 2 in 1 Match Perfection Concealer in Light/ Medium 3. Take a bronzing powder on an angled brush and contour your face. Brush it under your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, and underneath your jawline. I used ELF Contour Bronzer in St Lucia. 4. To brighten up your face apply a peachy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and up onto your cheekbone. I used ...

Beauty on a Budget: Best Drugstore Pink Lipsticks

From Left to Right: L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in 165 Tickled Pink, Covergirl Lipstick in 445 Pink Chic, Rimmel Airy Fairy, Maybelline 015 Born With It Hello Everyone! Today's Beauty on a Budget is all about pink lipstick. These four lipsticks are my absolute favourite, and as each is a different shade and finish there is something for everyone.  L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in 165 Tickled Pink.  This is a super bright, frosty pink. It has a creamy texture and great lasting power. Beacuse it has such a frosted finish this lipstick isn't to everyone tastes but it suits most skin tones and can be worn with a lot of other colours. Covergirl Lipstick in 445 Pink Chic.  Another frosty pink, this lipstick might not even be available anymore. It is a cool pink, a very baby pink shade with a silvery glitter. This one has a drier formula and semi-matte finish (besides all the glitter). It goes great with cool colours, and works for both summer and winter.  ...

Everyday Natural Makeup Routine Using Urban Decay Naked Palette

Hello everyone! Today's makeup look is a neutral everyday look that only uses the Urban Decay Naked Palette. It is so much easier to recreate looks, or just lighter to travel with if you only have to use one palette. This eye makeup is actually one of my favourites and I wear it a lot during the school year.  Let's get started! Base: 1. Starting off with freshly washed and moisturized skin, smooth a BB Cream or tinted moisturizer all over your face starting from the centre of the face blending outwards. I used Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium/Deep.  2. Next take a concealer and apply it in a v shape underneath your eyes as well as around your nose. Take a fluffy brush (or you can use your fingers) and blend out the concealer. I used Rimmel Match Perfection 2 in 1 Concealer in Light/Medium.  3. Using a big and fluffy face brush dust your face with a setting powder to mattify the skin. I used Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in C4.  ...

Updated Makeup Storage and Organization

Hi everybody! Today I have for you my makeup storage and organization post. This is an updated version of my previous organization post, which you can find  here .  Starting off with my makeup organizer, which I purchased in January at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. This I keep on my makeup/filming table. Here is where I keep all of my everyday/most used products. This way they are within arms reach and I don't have to confine my makeup to a small constricting makeup bag (harsh words, I know). The makeup organizer has many different "compartments" which helps me keep all the different products separate. Also on this table I keep all of my makeup brushes in a glass jar, as well as a mirror, books that I find makeup inspiration from, Jemma Kidd and Bobbi Brown makeup books, and all of my jewelry.  In one of my desk drawers is where I keep a small basket which holds all of my base products, so concealers, foundations, primers, powders, etc. Beside that I have 3 s...

Beauty Tuesday: Favourite Nude Lipsticks

Hello everyone! I'm officially back from the land of pre-production mindlessness. Since I've been gone it has turned into May so it time to break out the pretty spring lip colours. I prefer nude lip colours all year round but especially during the spring and summer. So today's post is my favourite nude lipsticks. From L-R: Rimmel Kate Lip Stick 14, Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Stick in Asia, Revlon  Super Lustrous Lip Stick in Blushing Mauve,Revlon Lip Butters in Creme Brulee and Pink Truffle, Mac Matte Lip Stick in Velvet Teddy. Rimmel Kate Lipstick Shade 14. This is a matte finish very pale nude lipstick. It works perfectly with a heavier smokey eye, and it lasts for ages. I find this colour washes me out a tiny bit if I just wear it on its own. It is definitely meant to be paired with a dramatic eye.  Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia. A browny-pink shade this lipstick is great for everyday. It has a semi matte finish and great lasting power. It is the pe...

Beauty Thursday: My "Quick" Makeup Routine

If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that I am currently in the middle of the production process for a play. This involves long days, and long weeks. A number of people have asked me what I do on days when I feel tired but I still need to go to rehearsal and I want to look "fresh" so to speak. This is my super quick beauty routine that I have been turning to for the past few weeks. Face: 1.I start by applying Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream all over my face and down my neck. I apply this using my fingers, and I am currently wearing it in the shade Light/Medium. 2. Next I grab my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and I lightly contour my jaw, under my cheekbones, and sides of my forehead. 3. I then choose a gingery/peachy coloured blush and I apply that along my cheekbones, blending upwards. 4. I take my Almay CC Concealer and Brightener Duo, and going in with the concealer. I apply it under my eyes and around my nose. This is a very sheer formula which is perf...

Super Sunday: Spring Fashion Haul

Hello Everyone! Sorry for my lack of posts, if you follow me on Twitter you will know I am the middle of production for a play right now, therefore I have no time for anything. That aside, today's post is just a quick spring haul. Last week my Mum and I popped into Stitches  for a browse and came out with all of this. First off, I got 15 pairs of socks for $5 (yes, you read that right). I got 2 packs of black and white patterns and one pack which is all vibrant neon coloured (not pictured). I got a very spring-esque peach, pink, and brown patterned scarf. This is so comfortable, soft, and warm; it goes perfectly with my jacket which is khaki green. I also grabbed some of their Aloe Makeup Remover Wipes. I picked up three cardigans, two which are two-toned (one black/grey the other beige/cream) as well as a peach coloured one. They are like big comfy wraps that are perfect for the chill in the morning, yet light enough as the weather warms throughout the day. I got th...

Spring Ballerina Makeup

Hello Everyone! Happy April J Today’s makeup look is ballerina inspired. Lancome’s Spring 2014 line is called French Ballerine and features Lily Collins. This look is perfect for spring as it is delicate, fresh, pink and just reminds me of flowers. Face: 1. Start off by applying a tinted moisturizer or BB cream to your freshly moisturized skin. You can use your finger or a brush, either way, make sure to blend down your neck. We want the skin to be as fresh and dewy as possible so a tinted moisturizer and no face powder is the best option. Jessie’s Picks: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. Laura Mercier Tinted Moiturizer- Oil Free. 2. Next take a creamy concealer and blend it under your eyes, around your nose, and on any blemishes. Jessie’s Picks: Mac Studio Finish Concealer. YSL Touche Eclat. 3. Blend a baby pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks and up along your cheekbones. You can choose a cream or powder form blush, whatever you feel most comfortable working wit...

Super Sunday: My Spring Makeup Bag

Welcome to Super Sunday the Spring Edition.  These are the current products in my makeup bag. There are always many different items that are in and out of my bag, but these are the ones that I have been using everyday for the past month.  Avon Perfect Look Color Palette in Cool. This palette comes with four lip colours, four eye shadows, two blushes, and a powder. All of them are for cool toned skin and so are super flattering. I just use the powder from this palette but I like having it around because it gives me options.  Avon Colour Fold Up Palette . I use the darkest blush from this palette, it is a shimmery peachy pink shade. Again another huge palette that contains lots of bright eye  shadows perfect for spring.  Clinique Choco-Latte Eye Shadow Quad . I use the darkest colour from this quad for my brows. I fill them in using a little angled brush. Almay Intense Eye Color Trio for Hazels. These shadows are super pigmented and last all day. I use...

My Makeup Table

Happy March! I recently reorganized my makeup table and I thought I would share with you what it looks like and how I keep it organized. I will follow up with a post on my blogging table. I apologize for the dark photos but today there was no sunlight as it was snowing and cloudy. Oh these wonderful winter days!  This is my makeup table :) It is actually a computer table with green fabric draped over it. I have decorated it with fake flowers, and my Eiffel Tower shaped jewelry stand (a gift from my brother). I also have some books which I take makeup inspiration from, and little candle holders that I use for my earrings. This is a green plastic organizer I picked up from the Dollar Tree.  I really love the neon green colour because it reminds me of spring and it matches my green fabric. It has 3 different sections which are perfect for my brushes and make them much easier to find and manage. In the back section I keep my hair styling products. I separate my face brushes...

Fab February: Chignon Tutorial

It's official! Paris Fashion Week has begun and just in time. Welcome to the final chapter of my Paris inspired makeup, fashion, and hair trilogy! Today's hair style: the chignon, is inspired by the above photo of Victoria Beckham. I know she is not French nor was this picture taken in Paris, but the chignon is an incredibly popular hair style and this is just my favourite one. Let's add a little spice to the Paris series (get it spice, as in Spice Girls...) Products Needed: -Heat Protectant - Curling Wand/Iron - Hair Ties - Bobby Pins - Hair Spray 1. Start with dry hair. You can wash your hair the night before or work with second day hair. If your hair feels a little greasy just add a little bit of dry shampoo to your roots. 2. Spray your hair with a heat protectant making sure to get all the way to the ends of the hair. 3. Loosely curl your hair using your curling wand or curling iron. Don't worry if you don't get every single piece because you are ...

Anna Edwin is a Norwegian blogger. She began her blog in 2009 and she blogs about everything from hair to bowling (well maybe not actually bowling). Her hair and makeup is always flawless, nice and bronzed.  So I thought it would be perfect for spring and to warm us all up. If you want to check out Anna's blog click  here  (her blog is obviously in Norwegian so you'll have to press the translate button). I searched her blog and tried to use the same products that she does. Let's get started on her makeup look! Face: 1. Start with your favourite face primer. Fab February: Bright Spring Lipsticks (Haul)

Today's Fab February is the final part of my spring series as well as a mini haul. My favourite makeup look for spring is light eyes with a bright lip. Keep your face and eye makeup light with just a tinted moisturizer, a champagne eye shadow, and a nice rosy blush. After you've done that pop on a bright lip and enjoy the sunshine. Now on to the haul. Here are some bright sheer lipsticks that I picked up the other day: \ 1. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum, Pink Truffle, and Strawberry Shortcake . I love these lip butters! I already have Sugar Frosting and Creme Brulee which are perfect for winter, but I wanted some brighter colours for spring. Shoppers was having a sale, so I picked up 3 to get me through the spring. Once I have worn them all for a while I shall write a review. 2. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick. This is the most gorgeous fuchsia I have ever seen. I also have another balm stain in Honey which is perfect for a ...
