Summer Foundations

Hi everyone! Summer is finally here! This post is just a quick look at some great summer foundations. I went away camping for a weekend and got nice and tan so I can finally switch to my darker shades.  Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream in Light/Medium . If you are looking for a sheer coverage tinted moisturizer, this is the product for you. It has a heavier texture which can be uncomfortable on a humid day, but on a cloudy day this is a great base. It can be worn alone or under foundation. It actually has a really nice semi-matte finish when set with a setting powder, or a dewy finish if worn by itself.  Vichy Norma Teint Anti-Blemish Foundation in Sand . This foundation is perfect for acne prone skin. It is almost like a serum, very liquid like, but it has great coverage and lasting power. I don't suffer from acne or a lot of pimples, but of I do have a bit of a break out this foundation doesn't irritate it further and keeps it from spreading.  ...

Style Sunday: Week's Fashion Inspiration Lookbook

Hello Everyone! Today's Style Sunday is this week's fashion inspiration lookbook. It is definitely supposed to be spring outside, but since it snowed about a foot last night, I'm going to be adding my winter cozies to all my spring clothes again.  Monday. It is supposed to be warm and sunny tomorrow but because it is going to be Monday I've turned to Mrs. Beckham for outfit inspiration as she always wears comfortable yet chic outfits. Not mention this one is all black which will suit my mood just fine. Tuesday. Another Queen of Comfy, Jessica Alba's oversized sweater, leggings, and boots outfit will be a welcome change on a cold Tuesday morning. There is nothing better then crawling out of warm and cozy pajamas into a warm and cozy outfit. Wednesday . It is supposed to have warmed up by Wednesday so a cute black dress with warm tights and ankle booties seems to be a good option. Thursday. Kim Kardashian has been loving the pencil skirt trend, ...

Week's Fashion Inspiration Lookbook

Hello everyone! This week I though I would do something different; I'm combining Fashion Friday and Style Saturday making: Super Style Sunday. This post is my weekly inspiration lookbook. It's my outfit inspiration for each day of the week. I plan out my weeks outfits on Saturday or Sunday and usually each one is inspired by either the runway or celebrity. Along with the outfits I plan my hair and lipstick. My lipstick is really the only makeup thing that changes daily, my face and eye makeup pretty much always stays the same. So here are this week's fashion inspirations:  Monday: The Duchess of Cambridge. She has impeccable taste and makes jeans look elegant. The first of these outfits was worn in Canada :) So I just had to replicate it! I will be pairing my Sirens High Waisted Jeans (Size 26/30, keep in mind I'm 5'2), a simple black tank top, this men's blue blazer (used to be my brother's but now he's too tall, lol) and a pai...

Super Sunday: My Spring Makeup Bag

Welcome to Super Sunday the Spring Edition.  These are the current products in my makeup bag. There are always many different items that are in and out of my bag, but these are the ones that I have been using everyday for the past month.  Avon Perfect Look Color Palette in Cool. This palette comes with four lip colours, four eye shadows, two blushes, and a powder. All of them are for cool toned skin and so are super flattering. I just use the powder from this palette but I like having it around because it gives me options.  Avon Colour Fold Up Palette . I use the darkest blush from this palette, it is a shimmery peachy pink shade. Again another huge palette that contains lots of bright eye  shadows perfect for spring.  Clinique Choco-Latte Eye Shadow Quad . I use the darkest colour from this quad for my brows. I fill them in using a little angled brush. Almay Intense Eye Color Trio for Hazels. These shadows are super pigmented and last all day. I use...

Fab February: Chignon Tutorial

It's official! Paris Fashion Week has begun and just in time. Welcome to the final chapter of my Paris inspired makeup, fashion, and hair trilogy! Today's hair style: the chignon, is inspired by the above photo of Victoria Beckham. I know she is not French nor was this picture taken in Paris, but the chignon is an incredibly popular hair style and this is just my favourite one. Let's add a little spice to the Paris series (get it spice, as in Spice Girls...) Products Needed: -Heat Protectant - Curling Wand/Iron - Hair Ties - Bobby Pins - Hair Spray 1. Start with dry hair. You can wash your hair the night before or work with second day hair. If your hair feels a little greasy just add a little bit of dry shampoo to your roots. 2. Spray your hair with a heat protectant making sure to get all the way to the ends of the hair. 3. Loosely curl your hair using your curling wand or curling iron. Don't worry if you don't get every single piece because you are ...

Fab February: Victoria's Secret Model Inspired Fashion

Victoria's Secret Models are looked to for fashion inspiration by thousands of women all  over the world. So today's Fab February is a few fashion ideas to take from the ladies at Victoria's Secret that will match your Victoria's Secret Style hair from yesterday. 1. Wear Slim Fitting Pants . Choose either skinny leg or slim cut pants in dark and classic shades. Jeggings are way more flattering than usual jeans and they hug your curves and don't make it look like you have "tree trunk" legs. Not to mention they are ten times more comfortable than regular denim. 2. Pick Solid Neutral Colours . Choosing solid coloured tops will streamline your figure and make you appear longer and leaner. They also create an interchangeable wardrobe, and take the guessing out of which patterns to pick. 3. Wear Heels . Heels lengthen you, they lift your bum, and make you look instantly thinner (the exact reasons why French women wear them everyday). When looking for ...

Style Spotlight: Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham's style is envied by many people in the fashion world. After a number of successful seasons, her fashion line exhibits her love of clear cut lines, neutrals, and versatility. Not everyone has a million dollar budget to spend on clothes, but if you invest in a few select and classic pieces, you can achieve Victoria Beckham's classic look with a much cheaper price tag. Victoria's style is one that flatters almost every single body type, especially petite ladies, which is one of the reasons why her fashion line is so successful. The overall goal is to have a small neutral wardrobe that is versatile, and streamlines your body.  Here are 5 general guidelines to follow, when shopping, that we can steal from Mrs. Beckham, to help us achieve this classic look: 1. Dark colours are your best friend. A dark colour recedes, therefore wearing a darker shade, like black, dark grey, or navy blue, will minimize anything you wish to hide. It will also allow you to high...

Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Makeup Monday: Victoria Beckham Makeup Look

Victoria Beckham is a style icon, and personally one of my top fashion and beauty inspirations. Her fashion line boasts beautiful structure and lines. One half of Britain's "other royal family" Victoria rules the fashion world with an iron fist, having recently launched another successful denim and accessories line. Her makeup hasn't changed much from her Posh Spice days, it has only become more chic and polished. Her signature smokey eye and nude lip can be adapted for any event, outfit, day or night. Here is a lighter daytime version of her signature look that Victoria has been sporting more and more often. Face: 1. Victoria has oily skin so a primer is a must. Pop a little all over your face, making sure to blend down your neck. Jessie's Pick: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer 2. Smooth a cream foundation over your face, blending it down your neck. Jessie's Picks: Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Foundation or Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Foundation. 3. Dot...
