Blogmas Day 17: Holiday Travel Makeup Bag Essentials

Holiday makeup

When you are going away for the holidays to visit family, or even if you are just going for Christmas dinner, not having to worry about your makeup is bonus. So here are my holiday makeup bag tips, to just pack the essentials, but still have a polished and fast look.

What to bring in your holiday travel (or not travel) makeup bag:

1. A moisturizing base. Be it a tinted moisturizer or a foundation, pick a tried and true product that you know you can rely on to make you look flawless. Jessie's Picks: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation.

2. A creamy concealer. Try and pick a versatile one that works both under the eyes as well as on blemishes. Jessie's Picks: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer.

3. A peach blush. This blush colour will go with almost all lip colours as well as skin tones, and that is a plus when you are in a rush and don't stop to think if your blush complements your lip stick. Jessie's Picks: Nars Orgasm Blush. Mac Powder Blush in Pinch O' Peach

4. A pressed powder. This essential for setting your makeup to make it last all day. As well as control shine all day. Jessie's Pick: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is the best!!

5. A cream champagne coloured eye shadow. This provides a quick eye shadow base, and will work great on its own no matter your skin type or tone. Jessie's Picks: Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study. Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded.

6. A dark brown mascara. This shade of mascara will suit all hair colours, and will keep your eye makeup softer to emphasize your bold lip.

7. A bright coloured lip stick. Be it red, purple, pink, or brown, a bold lip will bring any look together fast and easily. Jessie's Picks: Revlon Colourburst Lip Stick in Crimson. Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon.

If you want to add other things like eye liner, or bronzer pick ones in soft muted brown shades as they are the most versatile and will work with most makeup looks. Tip: Use your cream eye shadow as a highlighter to save space in your makeup bag.

Anna Edwin is a Norwegian blogger. She began her blog in 2009 and she blogs about everything from hair to bowling (well maybe not actually bowling). If you want to check out Anna's blog click  here  (her blog is obviously in Norwegian so you'll have to press the translate button). I searched her blog and tried to use the same products that she does. Let's get started on her makeup look! Face: 1. Start with your favourite face primer. Jessie's Picks: Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Primer. Korres Greek Yoghurt Face Primer. 2. Next apply your concealer underneath your eyes and on any blemishes. Jessie's Picks: Mac Moisturecover Concealer. TheBalm Time Balm Concealer. 3. On a big fluffy face brush buff a matte powder foundation all over your face and down your neck. Jessie's Picks: Bare Mineral Matte Foundation Bro...

Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Throwback Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! If you know me, you'll know that I have a slight makeup problem... I have way too much! But I can't help it, I just love it so, and I honestly look forward to putting my makeup on every morning. So today I decided I would do a quick post on my fave go to glam look for daytime. It looks quite heavy, but because I'm using mineral makeup it feels like I'm wearing no face makeup at all! My skin is quite sensitive and dry, so for the longest time I thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for my skin, but boy was I wrong! I was at Winners recently and saw that they had a couple Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral makeup sets on sale for $14... So I thought I'd try it out, and now I can never go back to regular liquid foundations! Mineral makeup is considered to be better for your skin as it is natural, and usually only contains 3-4 natural ingredients. Bellapierre foundation has an SPF of 15 which can cause a little bit of flashback, so if ...
