Style Saturday: Lipstick and Nail Polish Haul

Hello! Welcome to Style Saturday. As you can tell from the title this is not a fashion style post but a makeup-style post. I recently picked up a number of lip products as well a few nail polishes and I thought I would share them:

These are the lip products I picked up. From L-R: Rimmel Lasting Finish in Asia, Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish in 14, Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish in 104, Revlon Super Lustrous in Blushing Mauve, Revlon Super Lustrous in Icy Violet, and Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Asia. This is a mauve/brown shade that is in between Airy Fairy and Paradise. I really like the formula and finishes of Rimmel lip sticks so I think this will be a great daily neutral lip colour.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish in 14.  I have never tried the Kate Moss line so I thought I would try this shade. It is a nude/pink shade that has a matte finish. I think this will be great with a smokey eye or winged liner.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 104. This is the darkest of the Rimmel shades. It is a more raspberry/brown shade. It also matte which would be better for a night out, as matte shades have a longer staying power.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushing Mauve. I wore this one today and it is already my favourite! It is the perfect daily lip colour. It is a pearl finish, and is the same colour as my lips. This has a super creamy and long wearing formula.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Icy Violet. This was one of the first Revlon lip stick colours. It was first introduced in 1946, was discontinued, and then voted back. I haven't worn it yet but I hear it is more of a mauve than a violet. Great for a "bright" lip and bun day.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool. Due to the cold weather my lips have become incredibly dry, and I had heard great things about this medicated lip balm. There was a warning on the box that said not to use it more than 3-4 times a day. I guess because them it will actually begin to dry out your lips. So far it a has kept my lips moisturized for about 3-4 hours, even under lip stick and after eating.

Here are the 2 nail polishes I picked up. They are Revlon's Spanish Moss and Charming.

I am wearing Spanish Moss on my nails. This is a great khaki colour which is perfect for spring. Khaki goes well with any colour and this has a cream finish and is wearing well (usually my nails chip within a day).

I hope you enjoyed this post and are having a great weekend! Until next time...

xx

New Year's Eve is the perfect day/night to sport sparkling silver eye makeup, and who better to look to than Kim Kardashian. Eyes: 1. Prep your eye with a base. Be it a cream shadow, a paint pot, or an actual eye shadow primer, it does not matter, it just gives the  eye shadow  and glitter something to adhere to. Jessie's Picks: Urban Decay Primer Potion. Jessie's Picks: Bobbi Brown Gel Eye Li

Fab February: Anna Edwin Makeup

Anna Edwin is a Norwegian blogger. She began her blog in 2009 and she blogs about everything from hair to bowling (well maybe not actually bowling). Her hair and makeup is always flawless, nice and bronzed.  So I thought it would be perfect for spring and to warm us all up. If you want to check out Anna's blog click  here  (her blog is obviously in Norwegian so you'll have to press the translate button). I searched her blog and tried to use the same products that she does. Let's get started on her makeup look! Face: 1. Start with your favourite face primer. Jessie's Picks: Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Primer. Korres Greek Yoghurt Face Primer. 2. Next apply your concealer underneath your eyes and on any blemishes. Makeup Monday: Victoria Beckham Makeup Look

Victoria Beckham is a style icon, and personally one of my top fashion and beauty inspirations. Her fashion line boasts beautiful structure and lines. One half of Britain's "other royal family" Victoria rules the fashion world with an iron fist, having recently launched another successful denim and accessories line. Her makeup hasn't changed much from her Posh Spice days, it has only become more chic and polished. Her signature smokey eye and nude lip can be adapted for any event, outfit, day or night. Here is a lighter daytime version of her signature look that Victoria has been sporting more and more often. Face: 1. Victoria has oily skin so a primer is a must. Pop a little all over your face, making sure to blend down your neck. Jessie's Pick: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer 2. Smooth a cream foundation over your face, blending it down your neck. Jessie's Picks: Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Foundation or Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Foundation. 3. Dot
