What's in My Travel Makeup Bag?

I have had a number of requests for this post, and I thought now would be a good time to do it since a lot of people are going away on the weekends or on holiday. Most of these products are just in my everyday makeup bag, but a lot of them I have in a travel size, to make them more convenient to carry. By no means are there fewer products, I tend to bring things "just in case" which leads to a lot of unnecessary items being brought along.  So this is what I pack when I am just going to visit family, or whatever, but they can be tapered to wherever you are going whether it is hot or cold there. It is currently rainy and cold in Canada, so let's pretend we're going away on a nice ski weekend, to sip hot chocolate and watch all the skiers go down the hill.

Pictures to come!

1. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer in the Travel Size. This is my go-to primer. It helps with redness, it moisturizes, and it creates a gorgeous base for makeup. The fact that it comes in a convenient travel size is just another feather in its cap!

2. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 115. I adore this foundation because you can tailor it to your needs. You can mix it with a moisturizer, apply it with a brush or your fingers, and it just looks and feels amazing on the skin, no matter what. It is a sheer but buildable coverage. It contains SPF 18, which is perfect, however it means it does cause  flashback, so just keep that in mind.  If you are someone who likes a fuller coverage I'd recommend Mac Studio Tech Foundation

3. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15. I love this concealer! It is quite light and blends like a dream. I don't have any really hard to cover dark circles, so this is perfect, it also is perfect for toning down red cheeks. It can be worn without foundation, and it does not crease throughout the day.

4. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in Honey. This is a mauve/taupe shade of blush that works if I have a tan, or if I am more pale like now. It blends easily and can double as a natural lip colour.

5. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Medium/Deep. A bronzer is a must for me, I feel like an alien if I haven't contoured. This bronzer smells like chocolate, and isn't orange or patchy.

6. Benefit High Beam in Travel Size. This is my favourite high lighter, I love that it has a little brush to put it exactly where I want to highlight.

7. Mac Eye Shadows in Naked Lunch and Wedge. These are the only 2 eye shadows I will ever need. The possibilities are endless!

8. Avon Glimmerstick in Black. I bring this for my waterline, or to tightline. It lasts all day, is super black and definitely waterproof.

9. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner Pen. It creates the perfect cat eye, and makes any make up look perfect.

10. Brow Gel. This is just a brown mascara that I use on my brows, its just an in between before I go and grab another Benefit Sped Brow.

11. Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I got this for Christmas and so far it is amazing! It prevents my eye shadow from creasing and wearing of throughout the day.

12. L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess. This is just my current mascara, there is nothing that blows me  away about it but I just couldn't bring myself to buy another LashBlast when I already had this one and a Benefit They're Real just sitting there. It does give me nice and voluminous lashes, and I usually only need one coat.

There are also always about 7-9 various lip sticks, which vary depending on what type of lip colour phase I'm going through. I'm going through a neutrals phase, so right it includes a lot of browns, pinks, and mauves.

I hope you enjoyed this and it was helpful if you are going away and trying to decide what to pack.

Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Throwback Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! If you know me, you'll know that I have a slight makeup problem... I have way too much! But I can't help it, I just love it so, and I honestly look forward to putting my makeup on every morning. So today I decided I would do a quick post on my fave go to glam look for daytime. It looks quite heavy, but because I'm using mineral makeup it feels like I'm wearing no face makeup at all! My skin is quite sensitive and dry, so for the longest time I thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for my skin, but boy was I wrong! I was at Winners recently and saw that they had a couple Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral makeup sets on sale for $14... So I thought I'd try it out, and now I can never go back to regular liquid foundations! Mineral makeup is considered to be better for your skin as it is natural, and usually only contains 3-4 natural ingredients. Bellapierre foundation has an SPF of 15 which can cause a little bit of flashback, so if ...
