Best of Beauty 2013

Happy New Year! Another year has gone by, and that means another (or my first!) beauty favourites post.
Here are my beauty favourites of 2013:

           1. Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee. I love this product as an everyday lip colour, it is creamy and quick to use.

              2. Rimmel's Paradise and Airy Fairy; Mac Velvet Teddy; Revlon Siren. All of these lip sticks are called upon time and time again and they never fail me. The first three are the perfect neutrals, and Siren is my favourite special occasion lip stick. Thanks Jessica Alba for the suggestion!

                       3. Revlon Colourburst Lip Gloss in Bordeaux; Clinique Lip Gloss in Glamour-Full. These lip glosses are both opaque and are not over powering when worn. I never wear red lip stick because it doesn't suit my lip shape, but Bordeaux is perfect for anyone who has smaller lips that are overpowered by red lip stick. It is shiny so it will make your lips appear fuller, and the creamy texture wears well all night long.

                  4.  Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation, Mary Kay Highlighters Bronzing Beads. These 2 powders are perfect for summer. Mac Studio Fix is an amazing foundation, and even though I have dry skin, when you apply this foundation and set it with a setting spray, it creates a gorgeous natural finish, and doesn't dry out your skin. I apply it with a Real Techniques Multitask Brush for a medium coverage. The bronzing beads are the perfect highlighter when I have a tan, and they give the most delicate wash of colour along the cheekbone. Its a very golden goddess effect.

                   5. Clinique Coloursurge Eye Shadow Quad in Choco-Latte, Tarte Amazonian Clay Eye Quad in In the Buff. These eye shadow quads are almost dupes for each other, and they both don't crease when not used with a primer. I'm a neutrals girl, and the shades are super versatile and work really well with my brown eyes.

6. Mac Eye Shadows in Naked Lunch and Wedge, Yves Rocher Luminelle Blush in Rose-Gourmandise. Both the eye shadows and the blush are my makeup must haves, and staples in my makeup bag. If I don't feel like wearing a lot of makeup, I will just use these products and I am set to go. These are my favourite eye shadows by Mac, and I have been using this blush for over a year, and still not put a dent in it.

7. Covergirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara, Yves Rocher Pure Light Foundation, Maybelline Super Stay Concealer. Lumping together mascara and face products, all of these are re-purchases and are favourites every year. The foundation and concealer work beautifully with my dry skin, and this is my HG mascara, it is dark, lack, and volumizing, everything I want in a mascara.

Sorry the pictures are so dark, by the time I took them it was late, so all of the natural lighting was gone. Let me know what types of posts you want to see.

Anna Edwin is a Norwegian blogger. She began her blog in 2009 and she blogs about everything from hair to bowling (well maybe not actually bowling). Her hair and makeup is always flawless, nice and bronzed.  So I thought it would be perfect for spring and to warm us all up. If you want to check out Anna's blog click  here  (her blog is obviously in Norwegian so you'll have to press the translate button). I searched her blog and tried to use the same products that she does. Let's get started on her makeup look! Face: 1. Start with your favourite face primer. Jessie's Picks: Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Primer. Korres Greek Yoghurt Face Primer. 2. Next apply your concealer underneath your eyes and on any blemishes. Jessie's Picks: Mac Moisturecover Concealer. TheBalm Time Balm Concealer. 3. On a big fluffy face brush buff a matte powder foundation all over your face and down your neck. Whatever Wednesdays: Victoria Beckham Hair How-To

Victoria Beckham Ponytail: With her long dark brown hair, Victoria Beckham's hairstyle of choice has become the ponytail. This style is quick, and ultra chic. 1. Start with day-old hair (or even if you are starting with freshly washed hair) and spritz with a volumizing dry shampoo. 2. Pull your hair back with your fingers, smoothing over any stray hairs. 3. Once you have your ponytail in the desired place, fasten with a hair tie. 4. Take your straightener and run it over the ends of your ponytail, to give it a sleek effect. 5. Add a tiny dot of shine serum to the ends. Simply rub the serum between your palms, and run your hands over the end of your ponytail. Voila! Tu es fini, and you have a simple and chic hairdo. xx JD Please leave me a comment let me know what you think!  If you have any questions or suggestions: Email me: jessicadonna96@gmail.com

Throwback Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! If you know me, you'll know that I have a slight makeup problem... I have way too much! But I can't help it, I just love it so, and I honestly look forward to putting my makeup on every morning. So today I decided I would do a quick post on my fave go to glam look for daytime. It looks quite heavy, but because I'm using mineral makeup it feels like I'm wearing no face makeup at all! My skin is quite sensitive and dry, so for the longest time I thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for my skin, but boy was I wrong! I was at Winners recently and saw that they had a couple Bellapierre Cosmetics mineral makeup sets on sale for $14... So I thought I'd try it out, and now I can never go back to regular liquid foundations! Mineral makeup is considered to be better for your skin as it is natural, and usually only contains 3-4 natural ingredients. Bellapierre foundation has an SPF of 15 which can cause a little bit of flashback, so if ...
